Pursuant to Florida Statute 100.371(11)(b), Orange County has established the following actual costs for verifying signatures on statewide initiative petitions: (Revised 07/01/2025)
- Petitions submitted more than 60 days before February 1 of an even-numbered year: $3.65 per petition
- Petitions submitted within 60 days of February 1 of an even-numbered year: $4.10 per petition
State Initiative Petitions
Proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution may be made by a joint resolution of the Florida Legislature, a citizens' initiative, a proposal from the Constitutional Revision Commission, or a proposal from the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission. Proposed amendments require at least 60% approval from voters to pass [see Florida Constitution, Article XI, Section 5(e)].
