Orange County Supervisor of Elections Launches Spring Semester College Tour

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — In recognition of Help America Vote Day on January 27, Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel is announcing the launch of a “College Tour,” a campus outreach initiative designed to engage voters across Orange County colleges and universities in the democratic process.

Help America Vote Day is a national civic holiday established by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to encourage participation in elections and highlight opportunities to serve as poll workers.

College students often face barriers to voting, including navigating voter registration while living in on-campus or temporary housing and obtaining the proper forms of identification required to vote. Throughout the spring semester, the Supervisor’s Office will visit several Orange County college campuses to provide students and college employees opportunities to register to vote, update their voter information, learn about voting options, understand ID requirements and sign up to serve as poll workers.

“College students often move, live away from home, or are voting for the very first time. Our goal with our college tour is to remove confusion and make sure they understand their options so they can participate in our elections with confidence,” said Castor Dentel. “By meeting students where they are, we’re helping ensure our elections are accessible to everyone eligible to participate.”
