Chaine Du Lac Annexation Notice

The Town Council of the Town of Windermere, Florida, hereby notifies all interested and affected persons that a special election has been called and will be conducted by mail ballot to consider approval of an annexation pursuant to Ordinance 2024-01, which was adopted by the Town Council on December 10, 2024. If approved at the referendum, then the Town will annex into the Town’s boundaries certain lands platted as Chaine Du Lac and Park Avenue West and eighteen (18) un-platted lots adjacent to the Town’s western boundary. The annexation area is commonly known as “Chaine Du Lac” The proposed annexation area is depicted in the map below.
The referendum on the proposed annexation is being conducted by mail ballot in accordance with the Mail Ballot Election Act (Sections 101.6101 through 101.6107 of the Florida Statutes). Ballots have been mailed to all qualified electors in the area proposed for annexation. Ballots must be returned to and received by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections at her office at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Florida 32806, no later than 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Ballots received after that time will not be counted. Voters returning their ballots by mail must allow for additional time for the ballot to arrive through the postal service.
A qualified elector who resides in the area proposed for annexation, but who has not received a ballot, may obtain one from the office of the Supervisor of Elections at the above address.
Ordinance 2024-01 and the complete legal description, by metes and bounds, of the area proposed for annexation can be obtained from Town’s website at www.town.windermere.fl.us or at the office of the Town Clerk during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday), 614 Main Street, Windermere, Florida.
